Let's bring the SPAM thread to a conclusion---it's really not topical.
If people spam the list, I'll add their address to majordomo's
disapproved list, so we'll only see them once.  If worse comes to
worse, I'll tell majordomo to only allow postings from subscribed
members of the list (but that has the disadvantage of fairly naive
address matching, which could exclude legitimate submissions.)
